Terms of Use
These terms apply to skilproof.com and the Skilproof waitlist, which are run by Skilproof LLC, an Oregon limited liability company (“Skilproof,” “we,” “us”). By using the site or joining the waitlist, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or join the waitlist.
When the Skilproof platform launches, it will have its own terms, which you’ll need to accept before using it.
Who can join
You must be at least 16 years old to join the waitlist. Give us accurate information and sign up only for yourself, or, if you’re joining as an employer, for a business you’re allowed to represent.
What the waitlist is
Joining the waitlist is free. It lets us contact you about early access and updates. Joining doesn’t guarantee:
- access to Skilproof, or a launch date;
- any particular feature, price, or skill category;
- a job, an interview, a hire, or any verification result.
Skilproof is still being built, and what we launch may differ from what this site describes. We may change, pause, or end the waitlist at any time, and we may remove signups that look fake, duplicated, automated, or abusive.
Founding members
Everyone who joins the waitlist before Skilproof opens to the public is a founding member. Founding members get access before the public, a Founding Member badge on their Skilproof profile, and early chances to give feedback on what we build. Founding-member status is personal to you and can’t be sold or transferred. If we can’t offer one of these benefits, we’ll let founding members know by email.
Emails from us
By joining, you agree that we may email you about the waitlist, your invite, Skilproof updates, surveys, and related news. Every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe. If you unsubscribe from all of our emails, we may not be able to send you your invite.
Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or other feedback, you allow us to use it for any purpose without paying you or owing you anything.
Using the site
Don’t misuse the site. That includes submitting signups with bots or with other people’s information, trying to break, overload, or get around the site’s security, and using the site to break the law.
Our content
The site’s content and the Skilproof name and logo belong to Skilproof LLC. You’re welcome to share links to the site, but don’t copy or reuse our content or branding without our permission.
Disclaimers
The site and the waitlist are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Descriptions of Skilproof on this site are plans, not promises about future features.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Skilproof LLC and its members, managers, and employees won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the site or the waitlist. Our total liability for any claim related to the site or the waitlist is limited to $100. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about these terms, the site, or the waitlist will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, except where the law of the place you live doesn’t allow it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with a new effective date, and if a change is material, we’ll let waitlist members know by email. If you keep using the site or stay on the waitlist after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
